In a society where opportunities for youth are often limited, the GROWH Foundation, together with the local government, has risen as a beacon of hope, reaching out to empower mothers and, by extension, their children, to prepare the youth for a brighter future.
In a bid to uplift the community and spread awareness about an upcoming youth empowerment scheme, the GROWH Foundation recently organized an outreach program targeting mothers in the Kosofe Local Government, Lagos State.
The event, held at the Kosofe community, brought together a diverse group of mothers eager to learn about opportunities that could potentially change the future of their children and the community at large.
The outreach, spearheaded by the foundation, aimed to provide detailed information on the youth empowerment scheme that is set to be launched in the coming months. The program, designed to equip young people with skills and resources, seeks to address unemployment and inspire entrepreneurship among the youth.
Representatives explained that the youths will first be provided with an all-expense-paid, standard training to acquire the skill of their choice. Following this, they will be enrolled in the next phase of the empowerment scheme, where they will be given the opportunity to put those skills to work. Successful trainees will be financially supported and established.
Several dignitaries graced the event, including the Local Government Chairman, Mr…, who emphasized the importance of involving mothers in the initiative. In his speech, he noted, “Mothers are the backbone of our society. By empowering them with knowledge about this scheme, we are not only preparing the youth for a brighter future but also strengthening the entire community.”
